Valentine’s Day Can Rock

Love on Fire

My Mom asked me if I had received the card she sent.  I assumed it was one of her inspirational, hang in there missives that seem to come right when I need it, but she pulled a fast one with a Snoopy Valentine’s Day card.  I was truly touched and only slightly annoyed that I had opened it prior to Valentine’s Day, as I have this holiday OCD thing about waiting till the actual day to open presents and cards.

Valentine’s has never been a day of romantic love for me.  I’ve never received flowers from anyone I was dating, but received them from perfect strangers.  I’ve bought and shared Teuscher Champagne truffles, Jacques Torres Wicked Hot Chocolate and Maison Du Chocolat candy with many a co-worker and staff. Candle lit dinners are often girls’ nights out or catching up with old friends.  And because of this, I can take it for what it is, a nice day to pause for the cause and let love rule.  Love for your family, love for your friends, love for yourself, love for your life.

And if the love bug catches you, be bold, be spontaneous, be authentic, be love.

Happy Valentine’s Day!
